Throughout the Growing Together Initiative, Durham Public Schools leaders intentionally sought family and community voice to ensure that Durham's values were well reflected and represented.

As Growing Together transitions into the implementation phase, DPS leaders will continue honor the voice of internal and external stakeholders through the Implementation Advisory Work Groups. These groups will:

  1. Advise on rules for student assignment and implementation for 2024-25 and beyond.

  1. Represent the mosaic diversity of Durham in consideration of the families that we serve.

  1. Recommend strategies to reduce disruption for families while balancing constraints and capacity.

Individuals who would like to be thought partners with the district and help DPS shape the future of student assignment in Durham may sign up to participate in a Regional Work Group.
